As the Rivers State local government elections draw near, the Vote Count Campaign Organisation has announced plans to deploy 1,000 observers and 30 drones to monitor the election process. This initiative is aimed at ensuring transparency and credibility during the elections.

Ambassador Christian Lekiah, the South-South coordinator of the Vote Count Campaign Organisation, called on the people of Rivers State to set aside personal grievances and work together for the success of the election. He emphasized that the peace and development of the state should take priority over individual interests once the votes are cast.

In a similar message, Ambassador George Ojadi, Rivers State coordinator for the Vote Count Campaign, urged for a peaceful election, stressing the importance of unity. “The people of Rivers are eager to elect officials for the third tier of government. It’s crucial that everyone participates peacefully,\” Ojadi stated. He added that the organisation has established a Situation Room to keep citizens informed throughout the voting process and will use drones to provide comprehensive coverage of election activities.
